Comotto and Camarda, Milan shuts down transfers: Juventus, Atalanta and Fiorentina were pushing

Two Rossoneri talents promised playing time but struggling to find it. In the summer six clubs attempted to take them away on loan or permanently, but the management shut down negotiations.

Among the many transfers blocked by Milan this summer are the fates of Christian Comotto and Francesco Camarda. Despite Gerry Cardinale providing reassurances to both youngsters about their seasonal playing time, reality tells a different story: the midfielder has yet to step onto the pitch for even a minute, while the striker has accumulated just eight minutes.

The situation has naturally prompted agent Giuseppe Riso to explore possible moves already in the January window. Behind-the-scenes reports reveal that in the summer the market activity surrounding both players was far from quiet. Comotto had caught the attention of Genoa, Parma and Bologna, with these three sides keen to welcome him on loan, while Juventus was intent on making a greater effort to acquire him permanently. Milan, however, preferred not to enter negotiations.

Camarda too did not go unnoticed: Atalanta and Fiorentina viewed him as an interesting prospect for a temporary solution. The two coaches then in charge, Sarri and Grosso, had shown willingness to shape their strategies precisely to guarantee him regular minutes, convinced of his potential. Today it falls to Ruben Amorim to prove that the confidence placed in him by the club was not misplaced.
