Zoma undergoes shoulder surgery: lengthy absence for Nuremberg striker
The Italian striker will undergo surgery following the dislocation suffered against Energie Cottbus. His return is not expected before the winter break.
Mohamed Alì Zoma faces a significant period on the sidelines. The Nuremberg striker suffered a shoulder dislocation during the match against Energie Cottbus, forcing him to leave the pitch in the 33rd minute. Subsequent medical examinations made surgery necessary.
The German club officially announced that the operation will take place shortly, followed by rehabilitation. The club has not provided a precise return date but clarified that Zoma will remain unavailable at least until the winter break. Sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou expressed support for the player and confidence in the alternatives within the squad, highlighting the quality available for the remainder of the season.
A setback that also impacts the outlook for the Italian national team, given the extended absence that awaits the Italian striker before he can return to action.
