Signori returns to Italy colours as U20 delegation chief
Giuseppe Signori, Italian attacking legend, joins the FIGC U20 National Team staff. The former Bologna captain will put his experience at the service of developing young talent.
A new chapter for Giuseppe Signori in the Italian national colours. The Italian Football Federation has announced the appointment of the former striker as head of delegation for the U20 National Team, which will continue to be managed by technical commissioner Carmine Nunziata. For Signori, it marks a fresh role after a distinguished playing career: 28 appearances for Italy, 7 goals and a silver medal won at the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
Commissioner Giovanni Malagò welcomed Signori's arrival at the Federation offices, emphasising that 'Beppe' was among the greatest strikers in Italian football history, characterised by talent, goal-scoring instinct and professionalism. His experience is viewed by the Federation as a crucial asset to guide young players in their development and strengthen their connection with the national team.
Signori received the proposal with enthusiasm. The former Bologna player stated he would place all his experience at the service of the U20 squad, supporting them through their growth and helping them tackle the step towards higher-level competitions. "Returning in the Italian colours is a special emotion," he reaffirmed, expressing his determination to contribute to the Federation's project.
