Cisse shines as striker in Salzburg: hat-trick opens new chapter
The forward nets three times in Austria with pure number 9 movements. His experiences as a striker with the national team are beginning to bear fruit.
Alphadjo Cisse impressed in Salzburg not as a playmaker, his usual role, but as a pure striker. Three goals in one match that showcase a player capable of reading spaces with tactical intelligence: a headed finish despite his frame not traditionally favouring such finishes, a poacher's goal from open play, and another from close range.
Cisse himself explained this offensive display. In an interview with Sky, the footballer clarified that his movements as a centre-forward are already part of his technical arsenal, honed through experience with the national team where he has played that position previously. "These goals represent something new for me in this context," he said, stressing how the matches played for Italy as a striker remain a reference point.
The question remains open: does what happened in Austria represent a concrete direction for his development, or is it simply a positive episode? For now, Cisse prefers not to commit, but the three goals nonetheless send a clear message about his offensive versatility.
