Apuzzo: Napoli can surprise Villarreal. Vergara and Favasuli are already part of the present
The former Napoli youth coach sees room for optimism ahead of the Champions League clash in Spain. Confidence placed in two young Azzurri talents across Serie A and Under 21.
Napoli arrives at tomorrow's European appointment in San Sebastian following the home victory over Frosinone, but needing to bounce back from the stumble against Arsenal on matchday one. Ernesto Apuzzo, who coached Napoli's youth academy, analyzes a challenge that presents multiple complexities.
"The Estadio de la Cerámica pitch always presents objective difficulties, and Villarreal remains a high-level opponent despite their recent loss to Real Madrid", Apuzzo explains. "However, the display seen at the Maradona gives real grounds for hope about the squad's ability to compete away from home too. The recovery of Scott McTominay represents a meaningful addition for Allegri".
On the emerging talent front, the former coach is certain: "Vergara and Favasuli already embody the present and future of Napoli. The first operates in the senior national team, the second is a key figure in the Under 21. I am convinced of their value".
